Skincare Conference

evasesthetics.com/evas2/waxqueen

Let me start by saying that we have been looking forward to our first skincare conference since June 2006! Now let me say what a disappointment. I expected to see the best in skincare products as well as receive samples to prove the product. While Pevonia & Dermalogica & Eminence & Sampar were there, the rest seemed just average. Like you could find similar products in any drug store. Samples were sparse. Pevonia & Sampar handed out the most generous. Some of the companies ( i won't mention) actually wanted to charge us "1/2 price " for sample packs. We all agreed if the product was that gooooood they could sample it to us and we would be calling in our orders asap. Some of the participants were quite entertaining. Botox seemed to rule more than a few faces. Ah, but it is "their product " that gives that flawless skin. (wink wink) Half the time I was so busy staring at the waxy no expression faces that I really didn't even hear what was being said. I did attend a speed waxing class given by Lori Nestor aka The Wax Queen . Nothing like seeing a Brazilian on the big screen. That's right a volunteer from the audience came up, and plopped her vagina right up there for all to see, what the heck, it was FREE! Those can cost $60.00 & up. Lori gives a great informative class and she is hilarious. Besides that highlight, I bought some amazing essential oils. Italian Bergamont, Lemon, & Orange. The are going to make intoxicating steamed face towels. Well, I wouldn't have listened to anyone who said not to waste your time, as this was my first show. I am now planning on the Vegas 2007 show...... that one has to be good :)

If it is raining here its raining in SF. Thats ok, I leave tomorrow and rain or shine it is going to be fun. I have a couple fun hats I'll just throw on! Happy Weekend.

off to the city

This weekend The 6 are attending our first skincare conference . It is going to be in San Francisco and we cannot wait to go. We live about 2 1/2 hours south of the city, so it won't be a long drive at all. We got a couple rooms and we are ready to hit the show. We will be seeing all the latest & greatest in skincare and machines as well as demo's by some of the leading people in skincare today. I am very much looking forward to hearing Dr. Peter Pugliese speak. I'm going to learn about the latest in peptides.!! Out of the 6 three of us have graduated so it will also be a little reunion getting us all back together. One of my favorite views is the first view of the building coming off the highway. I always get to excited. Hmm I don't think its too soon to start figuring out what I am gonna wear!

All done
I am officially over with school! I never dreamed 600 hrs would fly & I would be sad to leave! School has been awesome. Besides making 5 new friends, it was like hanging out with your girlfriends in a spa salon all day! We had 2 hours of theory every morning, from anatomy to skin chemistry and product knowledge. Then we went on to the practical. Actually doing facials, skin peels, microdermabrasion etc..... It has truly been one of the best times. Once I receive my "offical" state test date I'm on my way. (ya, that's becks on my locker!!)

what do i have in common with these people??
I'm a copycat. I was reading a fun post by http://annyslife.blogspot.com/ and I had to copy her. She had a picture of herself with celebrities that share similarities with her. I tried this with numerous photos and I repeatedly got Jada Pinkett Smith and Meryl Streep as a match. Obviously when you see the pictures we don't look alike, but rather have similarities which with Meryl would be a wide face! and with Jada? teeth? In any event I am 1/2 azn and the majority of my matches are azn. I even included the men match for fun. (cause i like clark!, and i never heard of the other guy) So, thanks anny for the fun, I spent an hour messing around with pictures, I even did a group of 4 of us and we got matches for all the faces. The hour spent doing this was much more fun than the laundry i had piled up and the pages of homework i had . peace out!

So R U gay?

So, if you are an E.R fan T.R Night has announced he is gay. I never even thought that? Did you? In other gay news Matthew & Lance are announcing they are not gay. I never even thought that either, did you? My friend Lana says if a couple looks alike while they are dating they will likely marry. She calls it the brother/sister thing. I don't know if there is any truth to that but I will say JLO and Mark Anthony look alike in this picture and really MA doesn't look very good. And I didn't really think he is all that attractive to begin with, but looking at this picture the dude must wear a a fair amount of makeup before he goes out to perform. Oh and I'm announcing I am not gay!

countdown

I can't believe it, just about 12 days or so till i graduate from esthetician school. I will have completed 600 hours of the most fun I have ever had learning something. Even the chemistry, anatomy and electricity were interesting. I currently have a steady clientele that come for facials and facial treatments. Yikes, I am going to have withdrawals when I have to start over and get a new clientele. I love doing the chemical peels, they give instant results and you walk out with glowing skin. (I have already personally rec'd 5 :) I think I might be addicted. I went and bought some Bobby Brown foundation and some Chanel foundation, it was perfect. Then I decided to have a peel and guess what? My makeup no longer matches, since a layer of "dead" skin was removed I am left with fresh new skin (which happens to be lighter in color!!!) So, I guess I will be returning the makeup for a new colour.

kitchen remodel comin' along

Slowly the kitchen remodel is coming along. I'll have to get some "before" pics so that you can see the difference . Having the new kitchen makes me want to cook & bake! The kitchen is tiny & I can squeeze 4 comfortably and 6 xtra cozy. Non the less I love my new kitchen :) And don't let the tidy kitchen fool anyone, I am a pack rat and the rest of the house shows it!

Triskadekaphobia

Triskadekaphobia: the fear of the number 13! Well, as far as Friday the 13th's go, mine was uneventful. Esthetican school was awesome, we are in the chemisty chapter so we had a instuctor come in and we made handmade, homeade soap using essential oils, (peppermint & geranium) oatmeal, (for exfoliating purposes) geranium petals, and rose petals and olive oil, grapeseed oil and almond oil and vitamin E. They turned out absolutely delightful! Then we hoped into 3 cars and did an In n Out Burger run. GAWD that was sooooooo good. Well, back to the 13th, I am selective when I come to superstitions. I will not drive my car past a black cat crossing the street, no joke, I won't. I always put my fingers on the window and make a wish when driving over train tracks! My first marriage was on October 13th which eventually led to anniversary's on Friday the 13th (which eventually ended in divorce??!!) hmmmm. I guess its all about the way you look at things & life. One sports team is gonna loose and one is gonna win. Someone is gonna win in Vegas and someone is gonna loose, someone is going to die and someone born, someone might get in a car accident and someone win the lotto. So the 13th came and went just like all the other days of the year. Which by the way Halloween is just around the corner.... and then my favorite Thanksgiving (its all about the food) and Christmas and New Years and yikes its 2007!! Carry on :)

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. There are many organizations that promote the cause. I have listed a few of my favorites. You can't walk into a grocery store, convienence store, department store wtihout finding something with the pink ribbon that symbolizes support for women everywhere. http://www2.mms.com/us/news/promotions/komen/ https://shop.thebreastcancersite.com/store/category.do http://www.fordvehicles.com/warriorsinpink/wip/ http://www.avoncompany.com/women/avoncrusade/-8.html http://www.honeydewintimates.com/BoyShorts/007-8.html (these are super cute boy shorts)
